Coming up with 50 questions feels like a very unachievable goal, but once you start thinking about questions you have about your design process or those that you want to answer through design, they go by quickly. The idea of this project was to make a poster. Since I was very involved with light experimentation this semester, I decided to make an interactive poster where the audience could pick and choose the questions they were most interested in and project them to the wall to create a sign of their own.

DESIGN PROCESS

1. LASER CUTTING TYPE

When laser cutting paper, you have to consider the thickness of the paper and the speed at which it is cut for it not to catch on fire. Even though they did not light up, they still have a burn smell and edges that I quite like. The burnt smell enhances the idea of light. When laser cutting, you have to make more decisions to keep the counters of the characters by building bridges or embracing the filled-in bowls like id did to allow more light to shine through.

2. LIGHT REFLECTIVE TAPE

Since I've been exploring light, I decided to use the unconventional reflective tape material that would usually be used in construction sites, stairways, or home renovations. This material helps the aesthetic look of the cards but also their functionality of them because you will need to be handling these cards in the dark to interact with this experience; thus, "light" helps the user to manipulate them better.
