Typography is the branch of design that comes less naturally to my design practice; that’s why I push myself to constantly understand, research, read and observe multiple examples that I find successful. I consider myself a non-traditional designer; thus, my viewing of typography differs. This uniqueness shows in the shapes I created for this artifact alphabet based on the Fibonacci pattern and golden ratio.
DESIGN PROCESS
1. INSPIRATION
Throughout this semester, I was entirely remote, and lockdowns were still coming on and off depending on the COVID-19 spread peaks in the country. My family and I stayed safe in our country home, where nature creeps into every inch of the house and landscape. I became very observant of the details hidden in nature and started researching the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio. This became the base grid for the artifact alphabet.

2. EXAMPLES IN NATURE
Beautiful Natural Formations can be observed around us if we pay detailed attention. It is a matter of observation to see nature's intricate geometrical and mathematical formations.

MODULAR TYPEFACE
I extracted a set of eight pieces that I could use interchangeably within the creation of each character. The modularity of this group of elements taken from the golden ratio and Fibonacci pattern allows the cohesiveness of the typeface to shine through while mantling its originality and unique features in each letter.
