During the Pandemic lockdown in Perú, I had the blessing to share it with a big family.
My niece and I drew together constantly as a bonding activity to entertain ourselves when the circumstances didn't allow anything else. We escaped reality, creating stories about our two new pups and herself as superheroes trying to save the earth. This short comic book encapsulates that imaginative tale and showcases illustrations that combine hand-made and digital design.
PROCESS
1. HAND DRAWING
Hand Drawing required multiple iterations
to arrange the story so that the plot was exciting and captivating for children in a short story format. Having my niece as editor and harsh critic was interesting, to say the least, and her constant demands and new ideas kept this project evolving positively.

2. HAND PAINTED
Brush marker painting is a hobby that I enjoy in my free time, and I decided to use this technique to use this project as an excuse
to relax but also to achieve the organic texture I wanted.
3. TEXT PLACEMENT
As an amateur comic book designer, I illustrated without considering text real estate. The on-the-go solution was to
use tracing paper to flush out all possible text placements.
4. DIGITAL DETAILS
I often use digital tools to enhance hand-mad work. I used vector-based lines in this opportunity to add details like fur or background accents.
