Through the design inquiry presentation, I got the opportunity to deeply reflect on my design process. I learned about some evident relationships and some that I needed to be made aware of. This process was constructive and enlightening in understanding my personal design process. Putting it into words and clearly presenting concepts helps others appreciate my work as clearly as I do myself. This project ends with more questions than the start, but the difference is that the proposed questions will help me determine my thesis.

DESIGN PROCESS

1. AESTHETICS

Since I have a clear interest in weaving, embroidery, and threads, I immediately saw the thesis questioning process as a big knot of yarn that needed to be untangled through the process of inquiry. Thus the aesthetic of the presentation revolves around the weaving of concepts. Also, it wouldn’t be a presentation of my design process if it didn’t include vibrant colors.

2. NARRATIVE

During my thesis journey I have been exploring how learning can be viewed in a different perspective to tend to children that have different needs. This mixed with my culture influence and how it informs my work has generated an interaction that I like to call my thesis work.
