DESIGN PROCESS

1. LANDSCAPING

2. CHALLENGES

My mother, Claudia Gutiérrez, is a Landscaper and nature; Thus, my interest in this field of design. When creating the layout and concept of the publication, I immediately thought of merging the organic shapes of the imagery of a finished landscape work plus the hard lines that architecture blueprints have.

During the pandemic, I attended Boston University remotely for two semesters, which entailed certain hurdles of not having access to quality printing tools. I made this publication out of office paper and a home printer, which could have been more ink efficient.

FINAL PUBLICATION

3. DESIGN AS A MEDIUM

What I love about design is that it Is an empty vessel that allows a concept to shine or enhance a field. Through doing this project, I dove into a rabbit hole of blueprints. Architecture and landscaping to understand and become somewhat fluent in this area of expertise to create a relevant publication.
