Neutraface by Christian Schwartz was one of the first typefaces I fell in love with. Its sharp angles and low crossbars captivated my attention. When I embarked on this project, I went down a rabbit hole of discovering Schwartz's inspiration that connected to my interests. Thus the whole theme of this specimen booklet revolves around the connections I found between the typeface and my personal life.

1. CONCEPT
Throughout this specimen booklet, I focused on using the typeface in unexpected ways resembling architectural features like buildings or blueprints and natural elements like desert vegetation and rocks. This combination of architecture and landscape is inspired by
Mid-century architecture that merges both concepts. Christian Schwartz based this typeface on Richard Neutra's architectural style, emblematic of the mid-century style.
2. RHYTHM AND PACING
The Rhythm was essential throughout the publication, and I spent a lot of time juggling the pacing of spreads with an illustrative feel versus those with long-format text. You can click the link at the end to see the full PDF version.
